Kindergarten with a Pretty Soul

A kindergarten building can be made pretty on the outside by use of bright colors or bright child posters. However it is better if it has a pretty soul. Here is an example.

I found this pictures by searching on the Internet on a website that claimed it wase in the public domain and posted it here after adding the signpost. Incase any one has objection to my using this picture please let me know and I shall delete it immediately. The house does not have high steps and is therefore suitable for small children.

Ashok,

Not having high steps is good idea. But if I were a child, I would be scared to go into that house in the photo by myself. The looks of the house and forest-like garden seemed as though a witch might come out or a wolf might show up on the way. I vote for a light and airy looking building in pastel colors and with many large windows. Once we are inside, I hope colorful interior and functional furniture will attract our eyes. What do you think?

Lol, You could be right about that Keiko. It is just a concept nad we can consider other lighter ones too. What are you views on the primary school building?

Yes it does look like the cottage of Little Red Riding Hoods's Grandma, and one day when she visited there was a wolf inside.

In my childhood, I was attracted to the transportations to my kindergarten. Instead of choosing a nearby one, I commuted a long distance. The reason I was attracted to the school was that they provided a horse carriage. I think it passed a small street near my house. But they cancelled the carriage, and started a bus with large animal characters painted on it. Boy, when I saw a monkey and giraff going by, I had to go to that school. I don't remember if I ever rode on the carriage or even the bus. I think just a great image will expand in children's mind and motivate them to come to school at least. The rides were probably bumpy and uncomfortable.

In retrospect, what attracted me most was one kind teacher. I forgot her name, but she lived near me. She was an assistant teacher. When she left the school, I left also.

A Dress for Nalanda University Convocation

When the British arrived in India some two centuries ago the concept of a university was reintroduced in India. With that came many western customs including western gowns and formal dresses worn at convocations for award of degrees. While this is appropriate for universities developed on the western concept, it is most inappropriate if it is done at the recently revived Nalanda University. The appropriate dress is the same one as must have been worn at the original Nalalnda University on formal occasions and that is the formal Buddhist Monk dress.   W hile modern children have become wizards at electronic devices with even three year olds using a smart phone like a professional, they are not as good at basic skills such as reading, writing and arithmetic. Some of the modern methods of teaching these subjects at school is not helping much either.
